Researcher Development Program (RDP) Position

The Research Development Program (RDP) exists to enhance research capacity among primary health care workers. RDP researchers are appointed at the level of Research Assistant in the GGT UDRH Department. Position holders are then supported to develop their own research capacity in primary health care research and evaluation. Position holders can be involved in work on existing research projects within the GGT UDRH and/or on research work initiated by the position holder. RDP researchers are expected to work on research projects with the GGT UDRH areas of research and on administration related to the PHCRED program.

More than one researcher may be placed into the RDP program within a given calendar year, this is dependant on funding. RDP placements may be full-time or part-time. A placement can either be completed with twelve consecutive months, or may total 48 weeks accumulated over two successive years.

RDP placements at GGT UDRH are advertised nationally.
