Centred in the heart of the Lakes and Craters Country, Camperdown is central to one of Australia's rich agricultural farming districts. Situated at the gateway to the best tourist areas in Western Victoria, Camperdown also has plenty of attractions in the immediate vicinity. The volcanic Lakes Gnotuk and Bulleen Merri are the perfect location for water sports, and the Mt. Leura lookout is the location of an annual hill climb. The racecourse boasts one of Country Victoria’s best-known grandstands, and Lake Corangamite, the Historic Museum and the annual Leura Festival are popular destinations.

Shopping

There are 3 large supermarket chains, IGA, Safeway and FoodWorks. Please note that the opening hours are typically more restricted than those in the city, and in most towns the typical opening hours are from 7am-10pm daily.
The Camperdown Craft Market is also held in Finlay Ave from 10am-2pm on the first Sunday of every month.

Banks
There are 2 major banks in Camperdown, including the St George and Westpac. Bank hours are typically 9.00am-4.00pm Monday to Friday, although ATMs allow 24/7 access to funds.

Libraries
The Corangamite Regional Library is located in Manifold Street and is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from Midday-5.30pm and from 10am-Midday on a Saturday.

Post Offices
The Camperdown Post Shop is located at 190-192 Manifold St and is open from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
