About Colac

Situated in southern Victoria, just north of the Otway Ranges, Colac is at the centre of the Lakes and Craters country. Colac supports a large timber industry; however, it also serves a large agricultural area that comprises mainly dairy and beef cattle farms. These local industries produce a large range of products including dry milk, a variety of cheeses, ice cream and yoghurt.

Colac is rich in natural and historic attractions, including the scenic Otway Ranges and awe-inspiring volcanic features at Red Rock. The Colac Otway Performing Arts and Cultural Centre is home to an impressive array of regular live performances and also houses a cinema that shows the latest releases. You'll find national, regional and local artists featuring in music, dance, comedy and drama performances during the centre's theatrical season.
